John Steinbeck once called it “The Mother Road.” Others know it as “The Main Street of America.” Route 66 remains arguably the most recognized road in the country, and this year, communities along its path are celebrating its 100th birthday. Here in Missouri, the highwayโs official birthplace, that pride runs a little deeper.
One hundred years is a long time for anything to stay relevant. So what’s the secret? It’s not the pavement. It’s the millions of people who have traveled it, and the willingness to keep reinventing itself along the way.
One Road, Endless Journeys
When we think about Route 66 and its long history, we think about families relocating for a fresh start. Dreamers heading west with everything they owned packed into a car. People searching for a better life than the one they left behind. The road doesn’t care where you came from. It just gets you where you need to go.
That idea really resonates with us at True Title. No two transactions are the same, so we adapt while staying true to The True Title Way.
Change Is Part of the Journey
Route 66 didn’t survive a century by staying the same. Sections were rerouted. Towns along the road reinvented themselves to attract more visitors. What was initially built to connect small towns and everyday travelers became a bucket-list road trip people are still eager to experience today.
Longevity comes down to a willingness to evolve without losing what made it worth the trip in the first place. We’ve embraced that as we’ve grown here at True Title. Every new office and every new teammate adds another mile to the road we’re building. Our path may change as the world around us evolves, but the destination never does: getting every client home safely.
The Towns the Road Built
Believe it or not, most stops on Route 66 are small towns, not big cities. Travelers often cherish these most. They bring a sense of nostalgia, a glimpse of what America looked like decades ago. Places most people would never find on a map became meaningful simply because the road runs through them.
We think our work carries that same spirit. Every closing matters, big and small, because of what it means to the people involved. A closing is much more than a transaction to check off a list. It’s someone’s story, and every one of those stories deserves the same level of attention and care.
We may not have a century under our belt at True Title, but we’re proud to be part of Missouri’s story, mile by mile, closing by closing. Happy birthday, Route 66!
